1st Int. sMOVE 360° Conference for the Connected Car

Date: 19. - 20. October 2011

New Munich Trade Fair Centre

1st International sMove Conference for the Connected Car

Intelligent vehicle communications, car-to-car or car-to-infrastructure communications technology and the connected car - all these concepts describe a new era in the automotive industry. One of the main focuses is on the ease of use of systems which are becoming increasingly more complex. The growing number of features and functions in cars requires a different approach. While in the 1990s every function in a vehicle, e.g. the radio or the air conditioning, was controlled via an individual panel, nowadays the trend is toward an integrated operation of all components via one single panel. The connected car concept is based on satellite navigation systems, such as GPS, often in connection with special sensors or other wireless short-range communication technologies. Even though the primary goal of the connected car is safety, other aspects can also be enhanced and expanded by using this technology. Possible applications are toll data and insurance systems, which use driving style and covered distance information, or finding new ways of reducing the gasoline consumption and much more.

Car IT - Telematics - Connected Cars!

Ideas like this are exactly what we called for as part of the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2011. This year, we have received 820 registrations and 401 complete ideas from more than 50 countries - a new record. The winners will be announced on 19 October and on the day after they will present their ideas at the 1st international sMove360° conference for the connected car at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. We would like to cordially invite you to this event. Renowned speakers of the industry will discuss topics such as networked vehicles, Car2Car and Car2X communications, infotainment, road-side infrastructure as well as all themes pertaining to navigation, telematics and technologies linked to mmunication inside and around vehicles.
